Vaccination information for residents - 26 May 2021
With Australia’s COVID-19 vaccination program having ramped up in recent weeks, I’m sure many of you have already been vaccinated or are planning to be soon.
When you get vaccinated, could you please let village reception know.
Knowing how many people in our village communities are protected against COVID-19 is incredibly helpful for us when considering how to respond to outbreaks of the virus like the one we’ve had this week.
If we know a high proportion of people within the village have been vaccinated, it allows us to better calibrate our response to the real level of risk residents and staff face.
If it’s unclear how many residents have been vaccinated, or vaccination rates are low, we’re more likely to err on the side of caution to better protect everyone.
When you do let reception know you’ve been vaccinated, can you please tell them:
• Who administered the vaccine (the name of your GP, or the location of the vaccination hub you attended)
• The date you were vaccinated
• Whether it was your first or second dose
This information will be added to your personal file in VCare – the same secure Ryman digital records system that stores all your other confidential information.
If you have any questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, I encourage you to speak to your GP or another trusted medical professional.
