The Glen Shopping Centre - COVID-19 update - 5 July

Dear residents and family members,

There has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 at The Glen Shopping Centre in Glen Waverley, a popular mall that many of our residents and their family visit regularly.

The Glen’s management said yesterday a person who later tested positive for COVID-19 visited the Bupa Health facility inside the mall.

As a result, we recommend all residents and their family members avoid The Glen for the time being.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Victoria has risen sharply this weekend, with 108 new cases reported on Saturday – the second highest for a single day since the outbreak began earlier this year.

That has resulted in two more suburbs in Melbourne’s inner-north being forced into lock down, as well as the lock down of nine public housing estates in Flemington and North Melbourne.

As you’re aware, Weary Dunlop and Nellie Melba went back into lock down a few days ago following a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in Melbourne.

Our staff are on hand to ensure residents have everything they need, so please stay home and let your village team know if there’s anything we can do to help.

Unfortunately, the virus is back at levels similar to the peak of the outbreak in Victoria. We want our villages to be safe havens for our residents and staff, and I thank you for your support in helping to achieve that goal.

Stay safe,

Paul Sutton

Victorian Operations Manager
