Apple crisp in a mug

This comforting recipe is incredibly simple to make and ready to eat in a few minutes.

Apple crips in a mug-small

Especially delicious when topped with ice cream or cream, everyone is sure to enjoy this harvest-inspired dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 small gala apple - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon - divided
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter – melted
  • Whipped cream or ice cream, to serve

Instructions

1. Combine the apple, white sugar, and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon in a large mug.
2. In a small bowl, add the oats, flour, brown sugar, and remaining 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. Pour in the melted butter and stir to combine.
3. Place the oat mixture on top of the apples in the mug.
4. Microwave on high for 90 - 120 seconds. Important: All microwaves are different, so cooking times may vary. The mug will be hot, so be careful taking it out.


Apple crisp is best served with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream. Before taking a bite, breathe in the aroma – it may just transport you back to childhood baking in Nanna’s kitchen.
